The Signs

How do you know when you have a cockroach infestation?

Cockroaches are usually found in kitchen areas, cellars, ducts, toilets, boiler rooms and toilets, as well as around food sources or other sticky substances such as oil. If you have an infestation you will often see cockroaches scurrying along the floor, between wall-floor junctions or in cupboards, and you may notice dead cockroaches, droppings, smear marks and egg casings (Oöthecae). Generally the higher up in the building you find them, the worse the infestation is likely to be.

The Impact

What risks can cockroaches pose to you and your property?

  • Potential carrier of pathogenic bacteria associated with food
  • Contamination of foodstuffs
  • Cross-contamination of diseases linked to Salmonella
  • Allergies from prolonged exposure to roach debris
  • Could result in enforcement from local authority
  • Causing a nuisance and distress
  • Loss of reputation to your business

  • Insect monitors to gauge activity
  • Hygiene advice to remove congestion and reduce harbourage
  • Proofing to reduce harbourage and seal entry points
