The Signs

How do you know when you have carpet beetles in hour home?

They are fairly small measuring 1.5-4mm in length around the size of ladybirds, found in households. If you have them in your home you will notice holes in woollen carpets and garments. The larvae originate life in birds nests then gravitate towards heat sources until they reach airing cupboards, cloth cupboards and wardrobes, and may wonder further into carpets. The larvae also known as Wooley Bears have spearheaded hairs and can appear as tiny golden balls when disturbed. You will find most of the destruction at edges of carpets and in dark areas under and around furniture.
