How do you know when you have an ant infestation?

Ants are attracted to food sources, so are often found in and around kitchens and in food storage areas. You may also see pathways of ants coming in and out of your property, and small piles of dirt or cement around wall-floor junctions and pathways where they are digging their nest sites. During the summer, especially when temperatures are high, is when swarms of flying ants will be most prevalent when queen ants take to the air.
